Since the beginning of 2011, the Istitito Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) has recorded a significant increase in seismicity in the Pollino area, on the border between the Calabria and Basilicata Regions (southern Italy). Following this increase in seismic activity, INGV, in collaboration with the University of Calabria, Department of Physics, installed a temporary seismic network to integrate the geometry of the permanent seismic network (code FDSN = IV). The geometry of the temporary network has undergone several changes in consideration of the seismicity evolution. The most significant event, ML=5.0 occurred on 2012-10-25 at 23:05 UTC. The temporary seismic network consisted of both stations with real-time connection to the INGV seismic monitoring room and stand-alone stations.
