In response to a significant decline in tenure track faculty positions, nationally, and the need to support doctoral students, post-docs, and others considering alternative academic (altac) positions, we moved quickly to create and release a resource guide in draft form just in time for a two-day campus-wide event attended by over 100 students and faculty. The guide captured an exploding national conversation, and provided traditional and non-traditional resources for exploring altac careers. Members of the target audience participated in its development during the event and began tweeting the guide, sharing how it was useful to them, and suggesting additional resources.
