In this thesis, the synthesis of numerous di(triaryl phosphines) with DPE- or DBF-backbone was investigated using the well-known (-)-ephedrine methodology established by S. Jugé and co-workers. These di(triaryl phosphines) were tested in asymmetric catalysis and examined in regard to their stereochemical stability. Additionally, a new route for the synthesis of a P-chirogenic BINAP-type di(triaryl phosphine) was developed starting from a P-chirogenic secondary phosphine borane.
