This dissertation reports the development of new catalytic methodologies for deuterium incorporation into organic molecules. In a first part, the use of a simple Lewis acid is reported for the isotopic labelling of electron-rich (hetero)arenes. Next, two heterogeneous catalysts are presented for the labelling of comparable compounds: a first-generation iron-based system and a follow-up work using manganese. Both materials are easily prepared and fully characterised. Additionally, investigations were performed to gain insight on the mechanisms.
