The paintings in St Michael´s Church (built between 1460–1483) in Laitila (Varsinais-Suomi) belong in the Taivassalo group and date around the year 1483. The vault paintings survive whereas the motifs on the walls have mostly vanished. The detailed floral vines and patterns on the vaults are work of a skilled artisan. There are several human-animal hybrid motifs on the Laitila Church, a common subject appearing in the churches of Upland (Sweden) in the 15th century, but more of a rarity in the area of Finland.
