The Church of St Anna (built 1500–1510) in Kumlinge (Åland) has well-preserved mural paintings dated to the time of the construction of the church, around 1510. The paintings do not seem to have imminent connection to any other works of the same period although the floral ornaments bear some resemblance to those in Siuntio Church. Among the motifs there are images of saints, group of angels holding musical instruments as well as Arma Christi on the vaults, Passion of the Christ and Apocalyptic Madonna, among others. The paintings on the lower part of the walls and those on the east wall have vanished.
