This is an EAM potential developed for calculations of the mechanical properties of Ni. The functional forms are the same as those used by Voter and Chen (Mater Res Soc Proc, 82 (1987), p. 175). A Morse potential describes the pair interaction. The embedding function is determined by requiring that the energy vs. volume curve reproduce a simple equation of state as described by Foiles (Phys Rev B, 32 (1985), p. 7685). The parameters of the equation of state are the lattice constant, a0 = 3.52 Å, the sublimation energy, Esub = 4.45 eV, and bulk modulus, B = 1.8037 × 10^12 erg/cm3.
