AEGIR is a project that aims to improve the way energy is used in buildings by using modular and industrialized solutions, renewable components and energy management. The project will be demonstrated in four large demonstration building typologies in four different countries in Europe. AEGIR will also develop a digital platform called the Common Data Environment (CDE) which will facilitate the entire AEGIR digital workflow, covering all stages from design to operation.
The CDE will be adaptable to accommodate new building designs as well as renovation projects. The document D5.1 outlines the overarching requirements for the AEGIR project's design, execution, and operation workflows. These requirements will be implemented by the CDE, with a focus on utilizing Open BIM formats. The CDE will leverage the existing collaboration service KROQI but will also be expanded to meet the specific needs of the AEGIR project. This expansion will include the incorporation of a Digital Twin system and a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) management service. To ensure seamless integration of various domain/phase-specific AEGIR services, CDE Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) will be defined. These APIs will serve as a central backbone, allowing different AEGIR services to communicate and interact effectively. The document then goes on to describe the AEGIR digital services in more detail, including their purpose and their required technical interaction with the CDE.
The AEGIR process implements a DT Execution Plan (DTEP) which is a plan that defines how to execute and manage the digital part of the project. It will integrate different digital components, tools, and infrastructure that will represent the physical world in the different pilot sites. The goal of the DTEP described in section 4 is to ensure that all partners involved are aware of their roles and responsibilities and that the progress of the project is followed.
Finally, the document proposes a conclusion about the AEGIR CDE system, followed by appendixes describing some of the technical matters in more extensive details.
