Archaeological interpretation of lidar data for the wider area between Ambrož (ESD 765), Grmača (ESD 4740) and Cerkvence (ESD 17658), as well as the archaeological sites of Vojščica - Tabor (ESD 4734) and Sela na Krasu - Gradišče Podgrac (ESD 25710) For the archaeological interpretation of the five archaeological sites and their surroundings in the municipality of Miren- Kostanjevica, we processed 213 million points of lidar data and archaeologically interpreted an area of 16.5 km2.
We documented 1108 archaeological features, 431 of which are prehistoric, 58 Roman or Late Roman and 6 Late Medieval or Early Medieval. Of particular note are the features of probable Late Roman settlement at Grmača and Ambrož, and the remains of prehistoric agricultural activities on an area of 224.7 hectares.
