An archaeological field evaluation by trial trenching was carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) on land at New Lubbesthorpe, Leicestershire (SK 531 017). The work was in advance of a proposed mixed use development. Ninety one trenches were excavated targeting the Phase 1 residential areas, local centre and school together with nine balancing ponds, and the proposed bridge works access road to the east. The majority of the proposed area proved negative.
