This report presents the results of an archaeological evaluation undertaken in respect of a proposed development at Clarendon House, Linlithgow (centred on NGR: (NT 005 766). The evaluation was undertaken within a single land parcel of 0.6 ha. An 8% (205 linear metres) sample of the evaluation area was investigated by trial trenching, once mature trees and live services were taken into account. The scope of the works was agreed in a WSI approved by West of Scotland Archaeology Service (WoSAS). The evaluation revealed the 20th century founds for raised beds and a shed structure and a rubble field drain. No other significant archaeological features or finds were uncovered. Given the lack of significant archaeological findings, with most material on site dating to the 20th century, it is advised that no further archaeological mitigation is required. This will require verification by WoSAS on behalf of West Lothian Council.
