This report presents the results of an Archaeological Watching Brief undertaken as a condition of planning consent (18/09551/FUL) during the conversion of an existing garage at 119 Glasgow Road, Newbridge, Edinburgh. The watching brief consisted of the excavation of a foundation trench 0.8 m wide in a rectangular box shape, 8 m N-S and 5 m E-W. Excavation revealed a dark greyish brown silty loam garden soil (0.25 m in depth) over natural orange sands and gravels. The natural had been truncated/disturbed at the northern extent, likely when the previous garage was constructed. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered.
