University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) carried out an archaeological Strip, Map and Sample Excavation on land at Land at Main Street, Normanton Le Heath, Coalville, Leicestershire on 2nd/3rd 7th November 2017, as part of the planning conditions to construct a detached dwelling on the site. A number of undated archaeological features were uncovered including postholes, a pit and a gully. A number of modern truncations were also observed. The site archive will be held by Leicestershire Museums Service, under accession number XA138-2017.
