Sutton Place Property Unit Trust, through their agent Gardiner and Theobald LLP, commissioned Wessex Archaeology to undertake an archaeological evaluation and walkover survey on land within the Sutton Place Estate, Sutton Green, Surrey centred on NGR 501738, 153804. The archaeological evaluation comprised the mechanical excavation of nine trenches, each measuring 35m by 1.4m, which were positioned to investigate the potential for buried archaeological remains within the development area. The walkover survey aimed to identify earthworks and evidence of buried remains which could be investigated through trenching. No earthworks or evidence of buried remains were identified during the walkover survey and no archaeological remains of significance were identified within the trenches. The archaeological evaluation was carried out between the 11th and 13th June 2012
