Detailed magnetometry carried out over 5ha within four land parcels using hand pushed cart based system with 5 sensors spaced 0.5m apart taking readings at 20Hz. A detailed magnetometry survey was carried out by Archaeological Surveys Ltd on land to the south of Woolavington Road, Puriton in Somerset. The results indicate the presence of a rectilinear enclosure and another L-shaped rectilinear ditch in the north eastern part of the site. Further weakly positive and some negative anomalies could relate to further cut features, but they generally lack a coherent morphology and a non-archaeological origin is also possible. The site contains evidence of former quarrying, and ground reinstatement with strongly magnetic debris indicates a fill containing ferrous material.
