Detailed magnetometry was carried out over a c3.5km corridor route ahead of a new sewerage scheme for Stantec on behalf of Thames Water in accordance with the CIfA (2014, updated 2020) Standard and Guidance for Archaeological Geophysical Survey and the European Archaeological Council (2015) Guidelines for the Use of Geophysics in Archaeology. The methodology was agreed by the Oxfordshire County Council planning archaeologist ahead of carrying out the work. Magnetometry found evidence for archaeological features within at least two areas along the survey corridor.
