A geophysical survey, comprising detailed magnetometry, was carried out over 1.75ha on land east of Pixash Lane in Keynsham ahead of a proposed development of a waste transfer site. The survey was carried out using a 5 channel, hand-pushed, cart-based array. The surveyed area had been used as a plant nursery since at least the 1880s and the majority of the anomalies are associated with former cultivation and land divisions as well as material derived from dumping and demolition. A small number of short positive linear and discrete anomalies have been located; however, they lack a coherent morphology and cannot be confidently interpreted.
