A programme of archaeological observation, investigation and recording was undertaken in November and December 2019 at Thixendale, North Yorkshire during the excavation of a trench for an 11KV electricity cable. No archaeological features were observed along the route of the trench save in a field containing earthworks immediately to the south of the village, where a small backfilled ditch was recorded to the east of a low earth bank. This bank and its associated ditch were most probably part of a medieval property boundary.
