An archaeological Desk-based Assessment has been carried out on Glebe land adjacent to Church Lane, Frant, which has been allocated for a new primary school. The desk-based assessment has established that the field in which the new school is to be built has not been the subject of any development or other land use during the 160 years since the Tithe map. There is significant archaeological activity in the surrounding area dating from the Mesolithic period through to the Post Medieval period, and therefore it is likely that the proposed development will disturb or destroy any buried archaeology.
