An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the groundworks associated with the construction of five two-storey three bedroom terraced houses and two one bedroom flats, at 2A Beach Road, Eastbourne East Sussex. The footing trenches were excavated down to a depth of 1.4m into the storm beach deposits. A possible late 19th century linear or boundary defined solely by material from this period within the beach deposits was noted, but otherwise no other archaeological finds or features were present.
