This document sets out the results from archaeological works carried out by West Sussex Archaeology Ltd during the excavation of the bases for some proposed iron railings at the Cowdray Ruins, Midhurst, West Sussex. Two layers of rubble were observed, the lower extending beyond the 0.6m depth of the excavated holes. Both layers probably relate to the re-landscaping of the site subsequent the abandonment of the Tudor mansion.
