In October 2012 an archaeological desk-based assessment of the former Cloverdown Elderly Person's Home in Kenmare Road, Knowle, Bristol was carried out. This prominent hilltop site had been part of a field known as 'Great Sleight' (O/E associated with sheep) since the late 1780s until construction of the surrounding Council housing estate in the early 1930s. The remaining part of the field was renamed Glenvale public open space and in 1973 construction began of the former Cloverdown elderly persons home. At the time of writing there were no other HER entries in the vicinity of the study area.
