Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook a geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 5 hectares, at Courteenhall, Northamptonshire in advance of the construction of a ground source heat pump loop system which will be an extension to the recently constructed poultry units located immediately to the east. Anomalies indicative of former ridge and furrow cultivation and field drains are present across the whole of the site. Two linear anomalies of uncertain origin have also been identified although they are also considered on balance to be of modern or agricultural origin. No anomalies of probable archaeological origin have been identified. The archaeological potential of the site is therefore assessed as very low.
