A programme of historic building recording was carried out by Colchester Archaeological Trust on Braintree College, Bocking, Essex in August 2020. The college complex consists of a large number of buildings and was constructed in the late 1950s or early 1960s. It was built in the brutalist architectural style, with strong geometric angles, exposed building materials and a strong focus on practicality over aesthetics. Several buildings were added to the college in the 1990s and are of a much more modern style, with pitched roofs and exposed timber-trusses.
