Post-excavation analysis of findings from trial trench evaluation and open area excavation of a 19th-century tile and brick works. The site was stripped by machine and excavated by hand. Evaluation and excavation uncovered the remains of the former Crow Trees Tile Works. These included a brick clamp and a Scotch kiln with workshops and furnace rooms. A separate bottle kiln was succeeded by a Newcastle kiln. The site, which operated throughout the 19th century and was owned by members of the Birkett family.
