This collection comprises a report, images, site records and spreadsheets from an archaeological evaluation at land to the rear of 18 Bridgetown, Totnes, Devon. This work was undertaken by AC archaeology during November and December 2021 and involved a programme of archaeological investigations associated with the construction of a single dwelling. The archaeological work initially consisted of the excavation of two 5m x 1.2m trenches which were extended to form a 6.7m x 5m excavation area. The excavation exposed the remains of a cobble surface and a stone layer associated with underlying hollows, ten pits, postholes and stakeholes and a ditch. These remains most likely represent a post-medieval yard area or garden landscaping to the rear of and pre-dating the current property at 18 Bridgetown, Totnes. All associated finds were post-medieval in date and comprised 68 sherds of pottery, one piece of ceramic ridge tile, some iron nails and a piece of ox or horseshoe, pieces of clay tobacco pipe stems and some pieces of domestic animal bones.
