This project plan details a programme of archaeological mitigation at Coleshill Manor in North Warwickshire. The site will examine archaeological remains discovered during a prior programme of trial trenching at part of an area required for ecological mitigation. The method of mitigation will be 'Archaeological Recording', to excavate, record and develop further understanding through investigation of the nature, extent, date and significance of archaeological features discovered during trial trenching. The purpose of the project plan is to outline the scope and aims of the archaeological recording and how it will contribute to specific research objectives, outline the approach and methodology to be employed, and set out the proposed deliverables. The aims and objectives of the mitigation is to expose surviving archaeology within one area encompassing trench 6, 7 and 12, to excavate, record and develop further understanding of the archaeological features, to obtain dating evidence, to carry out post-excavation assessment, and to publish the results of the excavation.
