Detailed magnetometry was carried out by Archaeological Survey Ltd ahead of a planning application for a proposed solar farm at West Worldham in Hampshire. The survey was carried out using an ATV-towed array of 5 sensors spaced 0.5m apart. The results indicate the presence of two series of rectilinear enclosures and a possible trackway primarily within the northern part of the site (north of the B3006), but there is some evidence for one enclosure just extending into the southern part of the site (south of the B3006). Within the rest of the site the survey has located a number of positive linear anomalies but the majority of these are very weak, short and lack a coherent morphology preventing confident interpretation. Much of the southern part of the site appears to have been subject to the introduction of magnetic contamination which is usually associated with the process of soil conditioning and which may have partially obscured the weaker anomalies.
