A 9m wide by 7.5m wide and 0.45m deep area was excavated by machine using a toothless grading bucket and under archaeological supervision. The area was excavated to a depth that was predominantly still within the topsoil, however a thin strip of exposed natural was present to the western side of the area. The stratigraphy of the site was comprised of: very dark grey soft-friable silt clay topsoil (100); and light-mid yellow brown soft clay natural (101). The results of the archaeological monitoring and recording indicated that there were no archaeological deposits present and no archaeological features were identified.
