A detailed magnetic survey was carried out over approximately 3.5 hectares of land at South Cerney. No archaeological remains are visible in the data. A large former gravel quarry lies on the eastern half of the survey area; the survey marks the limit of extraction. One old field boundary has been identified following the long axis of the survey and two others, one with a pipe, lie on a south-west north-east axis. Ridge and furrow cultivation lines are visible in the north-western half of the survey. An old stream course meanders down the western limit of the survey.
