Archaeological works involved the monitoring of two soil scientists from TOHA while they excavated a series of 53 trial holes, either spade excavated to remove topsoil and hand-augered to a depth of 1.0m, or hand-augered to a depth of 1.0m. Several locations of trial holes were micro sited on the day to avoid disturbing crops, disturbed ground, spoil heaps, or the location of possible geophysical anomalies. No archaeological features or deposits were observed or disturbed by the works.
