A two trench evaluation (each 40m long in an L shape) located on a subsurface high spot in order to determine whether a potential buried soil surface had been preserved beneath the peat layers overlying the natural substrate. No trace of any buried soils were found and no features of archaeological nature were uncovered. Clay and sand natural substrate was covered by a layer of un-oxidised peat, in turn covered by oxidised peat and an upper clay soil (probably imported)
