Report on Archaeological Evaluation at Land at Grove Farm, Coxgrove Hill, Pucklechurch, South Gloucestershire as part of the pre-application process. 9 trenches were excavated (reflected in 7 trenches, two of which were essentially conjoined). The planned 10th trench had to be abandoned due to the presence of established trees and a power cable. No significant archaeological features or deposits were observed within any of the trenches. Where buried subsoil was identified it was a mid-brown clay silt, possibly reflecting an earlier agricultural horizon. The conjectural line of a Roman road running along the western side of the site was not seen.
