The watching archaeologist monitored all mechanical excavations within the cable route. Where necessary, the surfaces of uncovered archaeological deposits were cleaned by hand to aid visual definition. All archaeological features and deposits were hand-excavated. The archaeological monitoring and recording uncovered five archaeological features including three pits, a ditch and a gully, along with two tree throw holes. All datable finds recovered were prehistoric in date, with Neolithic and Beaker pottery. Features were concentrated toward the northern end of the scheme, with a ditch and pit at the southern end of the cable route.
