An area within Blue Dolphin Holiday Park designed to be converted from a mobile to a static caravan site was evaluated through trial trenching. Eight trenches from 17m to 60m long by 1.6m wide, were excavated across the site, exposing orange brown sandy clay at between 0.2m to 0.6m below current ground surface. Broad cultivation furrows were exposed in several trenches indicating that the area had been utilised for agriculture activity in the past. An extensive deposit of 19th and 20th century rubble and other debris was exposed at the south-east corner of the site. The deposit is probably linked to the Cliff House Farm steading just outside the development area.
