Between October 2016 and November 2017 KDK Archaeology Ltd carried out a Historic Building Recording, Historic Building Watching Brief and Archaeological Watching Brief on Wilstone Great Farm Stables, New Road, Wilstone, Hertfordshire. No archaeological features or finds were revealed in any of the external groundworks, despite the fact that medieval pottery and building remains were encountered during trial trenching on the site immediately to the north of the stables in 1977. It appears that the construction of the stables in the late 19th/early 20th century destroyed any earlier remains other than brick rubble.
