National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Fatal Traffc Accidents: Persons Killed: Persons Killed, by Age | State: Texas | Age: All Ages, 1988 - 2013. Data-Planet™ Statistical Datasets by Conquest Systems, Inc. Dataset-ID: 023-003-003
Dataset: Reports the number of persons who died as a result of traffic accidents, segmented by age of victim.
This dataset shows the number of traffic accidents resulting in at least one fatality. Data are from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), which contains data on all fatal traffic crashes within the 50 states and Washington, DC. To be included in FARS, a crash must involve a motor vehicle traveling on a trafficway customarily open to the public, and must result in the death of an occupant of a vehicle or a nonoccupant within 30 days of the crash. The National Highway Traffic Administration has a cooperative agreement with an agency in every state government to provide information on all qualifying fatal crashes in that state. Note: the month and year shown in the data reflect the date of the accident, not the fatality.
