Tepui-Sat is focused on the development of an innovative methodology for botanical and environmental research over endemic flora habitats of the montane refugia, enabling carrying out longterm monitoring over a wide spectrum of environmental phenomena. It presents a first of its kind methodology for directly transferring the in-situ work results into ex-situ nature conservation & research undertakings.
The system is a combination of 2 autonomous units: FloraLink Field Probe – an environmental probe designed to acquire, store and transmit environmental data from the field, and FloraCube – an environmental chamber designed to cultivate vulnerable species of flora in enclosure, capable of simulating specified environmental characteristics.
