In recent years, ship helicopter combined operation strengthens the naval forces across the globe. However, the launch and recovery of a helicopter from the flight deck of a ship can be a formidable task for the experienced test pilot. This difficulty arises due to several harsh environmental conditions like ship’s airwake, wind-over-deck (WOD) conditions, large deck movement due to sea motion, etc. Therefore in order to understand the flow behaviour in such scenario, a numerical study has been performed under crucial parametric conditions; (i) WOD angles and (ii) Fuselage Yaw. This study presents a change in the aerodynamics of helicopter fuselage under the turbulence airwake of Frigate Ship. Therefore different results like force, moment and turbulent parameters (Turbulent Kinetic energy and Turbulent Intensity) have been presented.
