Tectonics of the eastern Canaries. Extensive marine deposits containing identical Pliocene littoral fossils appear in the eastern Canaries. Some lavas are synchronous with these marine deposits. Their radiometric ages and ASL heights, together with estimates of ancient global sea levels, have shown the total stability of Fuerteventura from the Pliocene to the present. Meco et al., 2022.
