This video presentation demonstrates an applied principle for deriving simultaneous information about a patient's nasal breathing quality from acquired medical image data of the nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses. The fusion of medical imaging and respiratory assessment using computational fluid dynamics in combination with a statistical shape model of the nasal cavity can lead to a more effective rhinologic diagnosis. Thus, the integration of routine medical imaging along with the concurrent possibility of evaluating the nasal breathing quality could set a new standard for the future.
