Postnatal growth failure in very preterm infants (VPI) is a prevalent condition in the NICU and might be related to worse neurodevelopmental outcomes during childhood. On the other hand, rapid growth and excessive fat mass accretion have been shown to negatively impact metabolic health. Our aim was to evaluate growth and adipokine profile according to perinatal growth trajectories in a cohort of VPI at the end of middle childhood.
