Stuppet Stories is a puppet show using five rod puppets who each tell a story. The puppeteer plays the role of a young woman who discovers a suitcase in the back of her late mother's cupboard and is reminded of how the Stuppets visited her family when she was a child. She brings out the Stuppets and they tell their stories individually. The content of the stories aims to raise environmental awareness and change poor environmental behaviour in the viewers. The puppet show was first performed for the National Arts Festival as a digital show on demand after the COVID pandemic but has subsequently been performed in other locales. This puppet show is part of an ongoing and long-term project where the arts is used to adjust environmental behaviour in young people. Puppetry is one art form used but has emerged as the most impactful of all arts-based interventions.
