This deployment is an educational experiment as part of the Spring 2024 Seismology course. The goal is to provide hands-on experience with seismic data collection and analysis using modern Nodal instruments with both active-source and passive-source techniques. One group will conduct typical hammer-source active source P-wave refraction data, with an azimuthal-anisotropy component. A second group will deploy day-long SPAC (SPatial AutoCorrelation) arrays, related to ambient-noise measures, to estimate S-wave structure and radial anisotropy in the same area. This class project will be used to prototype potential GeoArray-related deployments as part of a later SZ4D project being planned.
