Description
Amphibious MARIBNO project. 32 short-period land seismometers (Spidernano datalogger, Geospace GeoMiniseis 3C and 2 Hz sensor) were deployed along three 100 km-long wide-angle transects in Galicia and Asturias (Spain). The land deployment was from the 12th to the 29th of September 2021 and it is part of an amphibious survey with simultaneous offshore seismic acquisition (OBS and MCS seismic systems). The active seismic source was the marine air guns (4700 ci). The hyper-extended NW margin of Iberia shows an across- and along-strike complex and heterogeneous structure because it has been affected by several episodes of rifting and a subsequent partial tectonic inversion during the Cenozoic. Although the W margin of Iberia has been extensively studied, the N margin remains partially unknown, mainly in the western sector where there is a significant lack of deep seismic data. This fact makes difficult to understand the along-strike transition from a hyper-extended W margin to a hyper-extended and partially inverted N margin.
