We plan to deploy ~60 3c nodal seismometers to capture the full wavefield of manmade debris flows at the USGS Debris Flow Flume in Blue River, OR. The instruments will be installed densely close to the flume and on the hillslope within ~100 meters of the flume in array configurations at high sample rates to capture the seismic signature of debris flows in a controlled setting. The goal is to understand what physical processes control the seismic signals observed and to develop and test methods for tracking moving surface sources. The experiments will last about two weeks, including installation and demobilization time. Exact dates may change so I have left some buffer in the dates listed.
