Pilot project to record seismicity along one or more strike-slip fault systems in Mongolia. The Bulnay Fault, which ruptured in two M8+ earthquakes in 1905, is the primary target. Preliminary data from the Central Mongolia Seismic Experiment indicates the fault is quite active. We plan to deploy a short period array for several months to better characterize seismicity and slip behavior on this significant intercontinental strike-slip fault.
