At Northeastern Illinois University, a 4-year Hispanic Serving Institution located in Chicago, we will use borrowed equipment to learn to use geophysical equipment for investigating the shallow subsurface. We plan to locate utilities on campus during class time for our introductory level and general education students, and then use the equipment at Illinois Beach State Park to investigate sand thickness along the shore for our upper level students. We will build our activities around the modules developed by the IGUaNA project.
