In February 2020, an archaeological evaluation comprising three trenches was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology Suffolk Office, on land adjacent to The Abbey, Cockfield, Suffolk, in advance of a small housing development. A single post-medieval gully and two undated gullies were present, along with two copper alloy and one silver William III coins from the topsoil horizon.
