Alice is an archaeologist and digital artist whose practice-based research explores the use of visualization for public engagement and outreach. Her interdisciplinary background facilitates this work by allowing her to fluently negotiate the space between the specialist insights of archaeologists and general audiences. Her current research focuses on community co-design working with and for Indigenous source-communities in the circumpolar north in Alaska, Canada and Greenland. In addition to her academic research, her award-winning visualization work has been commissioned and shown internationally in museums, schools and on-site interpretation. Since 2017 Alice has been working with the Nunalleq Archaeology Project and local community in Quinhagak, Alaska to lead development of a series of interactive digital resources which explore themes in co-curation, cultural identity and climate-change impacted archaeology.
